Hunter Parks started Hunter Construction Company in 1998 on a simple premise: there was a better way to do contracting than the way it was being done.
Nearly three decades on, Hunter Companies is a design build contractor, property manager and developer working across Eastern Iowa in retail, office, medical, manufacturing and warehousing.
We are a small team. That is deliberate. Our goal is not to be the biggest general contractor — our goal is to be the best. We are looking for like-minded people interested in joining us!
What It's Like to Work Here
You'll see the whole project.
On a team this size, nobody is siloed into one phase. You'll take work from conception through final completion rather than handing it off at every stage.
Teamwork.
We do better work when we work together. We are a tightly-knit team that supports each other. We coordinate our work in real-time; development, construction and property management sit under roof here, and we talk to each other and inform each other's work.
A real life outside of work.
Construction has a reputation for burning people out. We'd rather keep good people for a decade or more. We're a small company, so the work is real, but family comes first. We believe that by being organized and working smarter, not harder, we can make time for life outside work.

We stay in our communities. We make a point of being involved in and giving back to the places we build.
